When I first stepped foot in Texas, I knew I was home, y'all!
Actually I married into Texas many years ago and made my first big purchase on a pair of authentic cowgirl boots with gorgeous pink designs on it. If you don't own authentic cowgirl/boy boots, please know that you should probably break in the shoe before wearing it for extended hours. You don't want to assume the shoe loves you back at first wear. It takes a little relationship building before you can go on an adventure in them!
Professionally, I have been in the field of Education for over 20 years. I've taught every grade level (except for 5th grade, not sure why) and have been a Teacher, Department Head, Assistant Principal, College Guidance Counselor, and Preschool Director. I've seen where children take their first steps into a school at the PreK level and have helped seniors finish off their journey and get into the college of their dreams.
Working with various age groups over the years has taught me that each phase of the educational journey has its due importance and each phase is as beautiful as the others. And though children have their ups and downs over time, the core of who they are is strong, resilient, and awe inspiring.
